Beyoncé graces the cover of this year’s TIME magazine’s 100 most influential people and she has made TIME.com the first official outlet to show her “Pretty Hurts” video. The latest clip from her fifth, self-titled studio album strives to explore the definition of pretty.

I have to be honest I did not like the magazine cover my initial thought was she should have ‘covered up’ and she looks a little emaciated. However after reading the article and watching the video I get the message. No matter how much you try to fix your outward appearance if the inner is rotten ‘Save your $$$$’. You can never be happy. The lyrics below says it all. To answer Beyonce’s question as to how do I define pretty?
I think Pretty/Beauty (outwards appearance) is cultural. As human beings what we can all agree on is that emotional pain or anything that has to deal with our “insides’, self-esteem issues, is universal. There are no boundaries, racial issues or economic issues we all get insecure, emotional/hurt inside to some extent or the other. I would be a hyprocite is to say I dont have these issues but I think the key is feeling secure about yourself and lets have realistic views about life. I cannot be as thin as a celebrity because a) I have a different body type (hourglass size 8), b)I have a '9-5' job and then perharps hit the gym after. Most celebrity's '9-5' is spent on their image, just generalizing....hee, hee
