The much anticipated world cup held in Brazil this year has brought about mixed reactions from the locals and street artists are using this as a platform to express their creativity. While most are excited about the impact on the economy positively and meeting most celebrated soccer players (soccer is HUGE in Brazil), others may argue that world cup has brought nothing but misery to the locals. A lot of people lost their homes, business’s, jobs, etc see link below. Others may say the money spent to prepare for the games should have gone into helping the poor. Either way in most societies the poor is always the ‘forgotten’. They have no voice or clout as expressed in some of these pieces.
