The first time I saw a hyperrealistic drawing I thought for sure it was a photograph, No way could someone have drawn that. Is the can of Coke really standing on a surface, is this a 3D image or is my mind playing tricks on me, lol. I was totally amazed at the talent behind this new art movement.
Hyperrealism (Visual Art), an art movement that started in the U.S in the early 2,000’s is a genre of drawings, paintings and sculpture resembling a high-resolution photograph. Images are not strict interpretations of photographs nor are they literal illustrations of a particular scene or subject.
The Hyperrealistic style emphasizes more on details and the subjects. Artists utilize additional often subtle pictorial elements to create the illusion of reality which in fact either does not exist or cannot be seen by the human eye. Puzzling huh? Talk about talent:-)
Its all about Textures, surfaces, lighting effects, and shadows appear ing clearer and more distinct than the reference photo or the actual subject. Hey, this Isn't Just Art, It's freakin awesome. Check out a few of my fav's.
