There is an on-going debate and a lot of truth to the fact that black fashion designers are often overlooked and face more challenges making it in the fashion Industry despite there talent. It's great that my alma mater The Fashion Institute of Technology ackowledges this and is hosting it's first major exhibit highlighting black Fashion Designers from the 1950's to Present. I cant wait to see this! If you are in New York City, dates are December 6th 2016 to May 2017. Check out the FIT museum site HERE for additional information. They always have great exhibits!
