World Buzz - Bring back the Girls #Nigeria

Its been almost two weeks since Islamic extremists stormed a remote boarding school in northeast Nigeria and abducted more than 200 girls (13-17yrs).  Searching for the girls has been almost impossible due to poor logistic issues despite a "hot pursuit" by local untrained security forces and an independent search by desperate fathers who headed into the dangerous forests to no avail.

An extremist Islamic group based in the North of Nigeria ‘Boko Haram’ has claimed responsibility.  They have been responsible for a lot of heinous crimes (suicide bombings) in Nigeria because they believe Nigeria (in West Africa)  should be an Islamic Country rather than just the North side of it.  Muslims in Nigeria are predominantly Sunni which is also the governing Sharia law.

I have not seen my dear daughter, she is a good girl," cried Musa Muka, whose 17-year-old Martha was taken away. "We plead with the government to help rescue her and her friends; we pray nothing happens to her.”  Although at least 187 girls still remain missing, dozens of the students managed to escape their captors, jumping from the back of an open truck after they were kidnapped in the pre-dawn hours.

I cannot even fathom what these families are going through.  Lets please keep these kids in our prayers and support any petitions that can help in releasing these kids safely….  We are all human beings and citizens of this world despite any racial or political boundaries we have created in our environments.  My prayers & thoughts to the families as well as 'hope' for a more structured security system in Nigeria.
