Graffiti and Street Art - Buenos Aires

I have always been intrigued by Street Art.   I find it to be an unspoken language by artists all over the world revealing their society's culture, political structure, or oppositions.  Street Art is illegal in some countries however in Buenos Aires, muralists of the 1920s were authorized by the government to cover the walls of public buildings with expansive paintings that reinforced the momentum of the Mexican revolution.   Whenever I travel I almost prefer street art to local musuems, hee, hee:-) Great design doesn’t just happen on paper. The history of street art stretches back to Pompeii, and it continues to have a prominent role in the political upheaval of the 21st century. Todays feature is 'Buenos Aires’ Museum of the Streets’.I have not been to Argentina, South America, but it’s on my list.  I cant wait.  Hope U enjoy this artistry as much as I do:-)  Here are some categories of street art in Buenos Aires (the capital & largest city in Argentina).
***Tango - (means touch) is a partner dance that originated in Argentina.  The depiction of particular moves or personalities is meaningful. Often the portrayals of tango personalities are found in the neighborhoods where they lived.

**Neighborhoods - San Telmo - A neighborhood known for its diverse street art rife with antique shops, museums, traditional cafes, and restaurants.  It is also home to the weekly flea market in the Plaza Dorrego.  Given San Telmo’s artsy atmosphere, many of the murals are of higher quality.
