Maison Margiela Fall 2015 Couture #PFW15 #ArtisanalArtistry

John Galliano proved himself once again with his masterwork of invention and craft. This Fall 15 couture collection dubbed the ‘Artisanal Artistry’ made its runway debut on Wednesday 7/8 in Paris, and every item is a work of craft. These are my fav's from the 26 pc collection, hard because I love the entire collection.

#MaisonMargiela Instagram-A hand-painted neoprene mesh coat, detached from it's lining, becomes a dress. In a tegaki-basten technique from Kyoto, the lining is bleached then triple-hand painted to resemble thread embroidery.  See image below for the back of this coat, totally cool!

#MaisonMargiela Instagram-seen from behind: a neoprene mesh coat whose lining has become an evening dress, hangs off the back of the ensemble.  How cool is this!

Burlap Sack Dress, how cool

#MaisonMargiela Instagram-materializes from a vintage French needlepoint tapestry constructed on a satin organza base. Sheer silk knee-high socks with bird intarsia detail and lamé jewelled mirror heels complete the look.
