Meet the Women Who Are Part of the Olympics' First All-Refugee Team - Rio 2016

This is so beautiful, warms my heart.  The International Olympic Commission recently announced that 4 women and 6 men will be part of the 1st ever Olympic all-refugee team. Ten refugee athletes will act as a symbol of hope for refugees worldwide and bring global attention to the magnitude of the refugee crisis when they take part in the Olympic Games in Rio 2016 this summer from August 5th - Aug 21st.
The Refugee Olympic Team, as it will be known, will compete in running, swimming, and judo, with athletes from South Sudan, Congo, Ethiopia, and Syria.  “These refugees have no home, no team, no flag, no national anthem," said IOC President Thomas Bach in a statement. "We will offer them a home in the Olympic Village together with all the athletes of the word."

I wish them luck! Read more on Global Citizen.
