I’ve
been excited to see ways the fast-growing AI tech would impact the fashion Industry and this move by Saks is a pretty clever one for the luxury Retailer. Saks has launched a custom homepage for
every shopper, meaning the moment you log in, you’re greeted with
pieces that actually match your taste, based on your passed search history (instead of scrolling past pages of
things that just aren’t you); for both Saks
Fifth Avenue online and the mobile app. This
is actually cool. Just tested it by going to Saks online and I luv it! See screenshot below...
So what's AI's impact? Think of it like a digital personal shopper. The site pays attention to what you’ve been browsing, saving, and even ignoring, then reshuffles your homepage in real time. If you’re always checking out handbags, expect to see the latest drops. More into Jewelry? Your homepage will feature Fine jewelry, Fashion Jewelry, and even recommend related items such as Watches, etc. According to Saks, this is not only about convenience, the personalized approach is already paying off with more clicks, more purchases, and happier shoppers who feel like the store 'gets' their vibe.
Nivy Swaminathan, SVP of Commercial Analytics and Customer
Insights at Saks Global, shared some insight on the move: "The personalized homepage on Saks.com has been a big
success, and we’re excited to bring this kind of tailored experience to more
parts of the shopping journey. As we push our personalization strategy forward, we’re always
looking for new ways to make shopping feel more effortless and personal for our
customers."
