Meta (parent company of Facebook, Instagram,
WhatsApp, and Messenger), is about to drop its boldest eyewear yet codenamed 'Hypernova.' Think Ray-Bans with a twist. These glasses will have a tiny built-in screen
so you can see texts, maps, or notifications right in your line of sight. Add
in gesture controls (yes, wave your hand to scroll, very Sci-fi) with a sleek fashionable design. They’re more lifestyle accessory than clunky gadget, plus upgraded camera + AI features, a real wearable lifestyle piece. After early buzz about a $1,000+ price tag,
Meta is now expected to launch them closer to $800 on September 17th,
2025. Design is a collabo with fashion, tech savvy, eyewear giant
EssilorLuxottica (powerhouse behind Ray-Ban, Oakley, etc.).
Wow, I never really cared for ‘smart’ glasses, but these
might tempt me. That said, it does make me wonder, smart glasses like Meta’s upcoming Hypernova are designed to replace our phones, but could they just become another distraction? Especially while walking or driving? We already see so many accidents
linked to cellphones. No doubt it's a very brilliant tech heading into the Sci-fi era, but could safety concerns lead to them being
regulated or even restricted down the line? What u think? Would you Rock?
➨ Yes, I’m in! The future is wearable.
➨ Maybe, but only with caution.
➨ No thanks, feels unsafe.
