Known for its constant evolution, Balenciaga under Pierpaolo Piccioli embraces a new chapter of precision and poise. Respected for his
transformative work at Valentino, Piccioli stepped in as Balenciaga’s
Creative Director this year, 2025, bringing a vision that blends the brand’s
sculptural legacy with subtle wearability and emotional depth.
For Spring/Summer 2026, the collection married structure with
softness. Minimalist leather jackets and sharply tailored blazers shared the
runway with flowing gowns, clean-cut trousers, and measured tailoring that felt
precise yet approachable. The palette favored muted neutrals and tonal
contrasts, occasionally punctuated by pops of bright color, signaling a shift
from spectacle to nuance.
Accessories and styling stayed minimal, letting the garments communicate
the collection’s quiet drama. Reviewers described the show as a 'palate
cleanser' for Balenciaga, still bold and confident, but in a more less dramatic way. Piccioli’s debut proves that the house can evolve without losing its
edge. Spring 2026 feels like Balenciaga re-centered: daring, refined,
and poetic, with a newfound balance of restraint and emotion. 53 looks, these are my fav's.
