Comme des Garçons Spring/Summer 2026 RTW | Paris Fashion Week - Bold, Conceptual, Unapologetic;

Rei Kawakubo continued her exploration of fashion as art, delivering a collection that challenged conventional silhouettes and reimagined structure itself for Spring 2026 RTW. The runway was a playground of her signature avant-garde contrasts, oversized layering, sculptural forms, and unexpected cutouts that blurred the line between garment and sculpture.  She’s often defined by her avant-garde aesthetic, and while her collections may appear visually similar at first glance, each season reveals a quiet evolution within the chaos.

Beneath the sculptural layers and conceptual forms lies a deliberate refinement, a designer who knows exactly when to push and when to pare back. Still, I can’t help but feel it may be time for her to pass the torch; it would be fascinating to see the brand through fresh eyes. Founded in 1969, Comme des Garçons has long been synonymous with avant-garde innovation. Kawakubo’s work continues to push the boundaries of fashion, proving that clothing can be both a statement and an experience. Spring 2026 reaffirmed the house’s fearless vision, bold, conceptual, and unapologetically unique. A small collection of 24 looks, these are my favorites.
