Paris Fashion Week Men's officially started today (6.23.26) with Music genius/Creative Director Pharell Williams showcasing his latest. The scenic beach surf setup was pretty cool, kudos to the
set designers for pulling it off. The music was amazing of course with live
orchestra and the choir elevated the show, produced by the Genius himself. For the collection, Pharrell continues to perfect the bridge between streetwear and business wear with, Khaki's, relaxed Tailored suits, baseball caps, new outerwear silhouettes, bomber jackets, denim... the usual mix, all about details. At least the LV logo wasn't overkill this season.
Gender-fluid accessories seem to be more popular than the clothing since he took over, at least from what I've observed. Then again, I'm not his target market, it's a men's line. Besides celebrities, I have not really seen or heard much about the clothing. The handbags, shoes, trunks, and accessories, YES! It also looks like surfboards may be part of Louis Vuitton's growing lifestyle category, if they aren't already.
I did spot the new LV sneaker silhouette (see below) that caused quite a stir in the sneaker world when Pharrell posted it on his official Instagram page earlier this week, ahead of the show. It looks very similar to the Vans' iconic silhouette well historic at this point since it was created in the 60's dubbed 'The Authentic'. Looks very similar to this season's creation, same silhouette with an LV logo & twist. At first, I thought it might be a PR stunt, but if it's officially on the runway and neither brands have confirmed a collabo, I can only assume the lawyers are talking, lol. I find it hard to believe this made it through the design process without legal review or clearance. Then again, what do I know. We'll see. TBD... 78 looks, these are my fav's.
